I'm currently using a USB connection to my modem, though I know Ethernet is reputably faster. However, when I try to connect my Ethernet cable it doesn't work ... The Ethernet port is right beside the USB port that I currently use and I know the Ethernet cable itself is ok .. so what might be preventing me from using the faster connection .. ? Can some configuration in Bios be blocking the port? I endeavor to follow up any ideas proposed as the USB connection is so slow it's almost pathetic. There are some detailed answers and suggestions here .. erm, right lets see if I can get my head round this lot .. if Idon't resurface within 24 hours then you'll know I've messed up, good style. Thanks guys This is going to vote (so cross your fingers) My modem is working obviously but only on USB I can't find any sign ANYWHERE that mentions or hints at the enablement of the ethernet port (built in) so maybe it is a mainboard driver issue after all .. ? Thanks for trying to help, maybe after a few rums and endless coffees I'll figure it out ? (maybe not)... read more
